Stockholm, 29 May 2008 - Today marks the launch by the young Swedish growth company Agency9 of its 3D map function for the Schipsted company hitta.se. The application on which the function is built - 3DMaps™ EX - gives the user complete control over the camera, enabling continuous movement in the map image - left/right, zoom in/out and inclination - as the user wishes.

With the technology that has been available until now, namely 2D and so-called 2.5D (2D with angling for a 3D effect), the user has only been able to move in two directions across the map up/down and right/left. With 3DMaps EX, the user can now select the required position, inclination, compass point and zoom level - all at the same time.

Agency9 CEO Khashayar Farmanbar explains: "We have come up with a product that provides a completely unique type of user experience for visitors to hitta.se. Users will be able to look around in the map and freely pan around buildings and surroundings, giving them a sense of familiarity. 2D navigation can never create the same impression, which significantly limits the user."

The new service, hitta.se 3D, builds on 3DMaps EX and can be used by all web readers that support Java. No plug-ins are required in order to use the map service. 3DMaps EX supports 2D and 3D data, as well as combinations of the two. For early use of 3D data Agency9 work closely with C3 Technologies. 3DMaps EX can be easily adapted to different types of businesses and requirements and is simple to integrate with information about weather, traffic conditions or objects for sale.
