Agency9
Agency9 has since the beginning been recognized for taking a technology leadership in real-time 3D applications. This leadership is based on a unique distributive technology.
Common Technology Base
All applications and customer solutions created by Agency9 are based on Agency9’s award winning 3D-rendering technology AgentFX. AgentFX, serves as the common base together with Agency9’s unique distributor system for multiple platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, Apple OS X and UNIX systems.
AgentFX is available for desktop, browser and mobile solutions through Java SE, Adobe Flash, J2ME and Symbian platforms.
Open Standards
Open standards are important enablers for the growth of the 3D usage. Agency9 implement the standards throughout the product portfolio. The most important standards are:
Open Geospatial Consortium is the standard organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services. Supporting OGC-standards is important to create interoperability for GIS-applications.
OpenGL is the premier environment for developing portable, interactive 2D and 3D graphics applications. OpenGL incorporates a broad set of rendering, texture mapping, special effects, and other powerful visualization functions. Developers can use the power of OpenGL across all main desktop and workstation platforms, to achieve wide application deployment.
Direct3D is a competing (de facto) solution to OpenGL, which is initiated, owned and driven by Microsoft. Direct3D is an accelerated API used for rendering of WinFX.NET-graphic in Windows Vista. Direct3D is frequently used in development of games for Microsoft Windows, Xbox and Xbox 360.
COLLADA is a standard that offers a reliable content path for real-time 3D development. Collada is a COLLAborative Design Activity for establishing an interchange file format for interactive 3D applications. Collada was originally created by Sony Computer Entertainment then became the property of the Khronos Group, an open-source consortium, which now shares the copyright with Sony.
